Glad you’re here

By

Hello! I want to start by introducing myself and explaining what I intend to do here with my keyboard.

My name is Bree Brake. I’m a fitness coach and athlete. I have always been into sports, such as cheerleading for my school, competition cheer, gymnastics and track.

After highschool I found my love for working out. It became apparent that this is my passion. I acquired my degree in Fitness Management, attained my ACE Personal Trainer certification and never looked back.

I have competed in bodybuilding, in the Wellness division. I have powerlifted, ran 5k’s and intend on trying everything I can that sounds fun and aligns with my goals. Afterall, I’m a very competitive person.

I actually met my husband in college. We were in the same program, Fitness Management. I’m incredibly blessed to have a husband that supports me in everything I do and that’s always pushing me to do better.

On top of being active my whole life, I’ve always had a love for writing and reading. Getting to put all of my thoughts into words and reading it back is like really getting to know yourself.

My goal in creating this space within my fitness app and this blog is to create a community of strong, confident, healthy women.

Growing up, every woman around me had a tough relationship with food, body image and self confidence. I never wanted to be skinny over strong but it seemed we, as a society hold “skinny” on a pedestal. I was bullied in middle school for being muscular, even told I was too wide-like bro, those are my fucking hips and organs. I ended up barely eating and having so many misguided ideas about what to eat, how active to be, etc.

I want this to be a space where we celebrate being strong, fast and muscular. The goal isn’t to be skinny, it’s to create longevity within this one body we have. To being strong ass, badass women. May you be one, may we be surrounded by them and may we raise them. Let’s be the change we want to see not just in the world but in ourselves.
